ALGUNAS CONSIDERACIONES SOBRE EL DERECHO DE PROPIEDAD INTELECTUAL EN MÉXICO

Pedro Alfonso LABARIEGA VILLANUEVA*

One fact is indisputable: we have lived through the century of knowled- ge. Technology provides us with a tremen-dous amount of quick and easily accessible information, the paternity of which must be addressed by the Law. Therefore, in order to safeguard intellectual property, the crea- tion property, is therefore a very peculiar property, it is necessary to know what it consists of, what its content is, how it is regulated in Mexico and, what mecha- nisms have been shown to be effective to better protect and stimulate it. For this reason the author shows us what its legis- lative evolution has been. He points out to us that intellectual property has a bifron- tal shape: industrial property and copy- right property. He provides to us, the cu- rrent regulation in force in our country, at both the national and international level. He tells us that two institutes exist in the country, each of which heads the relevant part of that biphase property.
