Fundamental Rights and the Regulation of Radio and Television. The Peruvian Experience

Abad Yupanqui describes the situation of radio and television in Peru in the political context of the twentieth century that had an impact on a system where there were elements that failed on a normative level. The author raises the need for an independent monitoring agency focused on Peruvian radio and television based on similar experiences in other countries and discusses some of its possible functions adapted to the national context. Finally, Abad Yupanqui emphasizes the importance of guaranteeing the independence of radio and television and describes the different social reactions that have been expressed in Peru in favor of freedom of information.
